Yarmouth, a 17 square mile town, the second oldest on the Cape, combines three distinctive villages – West Yarmouth, Yarmouth Port and South Yarmouth. Together they create one history-rich area with iconic landmarks such as Gray’s Beach boardwalk, a 19th century windmill, museums, historic sea captain’s homes, family-friendly attractions and romantic getaways.

Yarmouth encompasses both the north and the south side of the Cape, and each section has its own flavor. In Yarmouth Port, along Route 6A on the northside, you will find historic homes–many of which once belonged to sea captains, antique shops, fine restaurants and historic spots.
The strikingly beautiful land features are believed to have been formed by glaciers. Yarmouth has over 12 salt water beaches. With that being said there are numerous types of recreational activities. They include swimming and snorkeling along with jogging and bike trails just to mention a few.

Historical points of interest include the Captain Bangs Hallet House Museum and the Winslow Crocker House as well as the Edward Gary House.
Route 28, along the south side, is full of shopping, family fun and entertainment including several miniature golf courses to choose from, Zooquarium and many family-style seafood restaurants.
